After Gerrit Rietveld "Elling" storage cabinet circa 1960sIn 1919 Gerrit Rietveld designed the first Elling cabinet. The original example, executed in oak, was acquired by architect Piet Elling and later destroyed in a fire. In 1951, cabinetmaker G. A. van de Groenekan rebuilt the Elling cabinet under Rietveld's supervision for an exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Maker: G.
